Request for Help

Society of St. Vincent dePaul offers assistance to those who have fallen upon times of hardship and personal crisis. Ways in which SVdP helps include providing food, clothing and furniture, as well as financial assistance when funds are available.

SVdP is an international organization of lay people with presence in over 135 countries. In Indianapolis, SVdP has been serving people in need since the early 1960's.

Irish Fest and Food Drive for the needy

On Sunday September 19 from 10:00 to 11:30 am there is free admission to the Indy Irish Fest with a donation (minimum 3 items per admission) to the Society of St Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. This drive is held in conjunction with the Celtic Mass to be held at 10:30 on the Claddaugh Stage in downtown’s Military Park. For more information see the “Activities” section of IndyIrishFest.

All donations are appreciated, but the following items are in most need: canned meats, fish, stews, etc.; all types of pasta; box dinners; various box mixes; cereal; canned fruit; shampoo; laundry soap; diapers. Donated items are sorted and made available free to clients at the SVdP Food Pantry, 3001 E. 30th Street. Friends For The Poor - Walk a Mile In My Shoes.

The third annual walk to support the ministries of the Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVdP) will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 (rain date is Sept 26th).

Walkers can choose to solicit pledges to support a specific SVdP Parish Conference or the Council-wide special works such as the Food Pantry or Distribution Center.
