Volunteer Opportunities


Our Council is managed and operated by an all volunteer staff, therefore, it is essential that we continually recruit volunteers for the good work of helping the poor. Everyone has something to offer and you are most welcome to join us with whatever time and talent you wish to donate.

Volunteers are expected to embrace and adhere to the Mission Statement of the Society.


Following is a partial list of tasks needed in the distribution center:

  • Truck Drivers (only a regular driver’s license is required)
  • Truck loading assistance
  • Dock workers
  • Electricians
  • Carpenters
  • Large appliance repair (ranges, washers, dryers, both gas and electric)
  • Small appliance repair
  • Furniture repair
  • Sorting, sizing and displaying wearing apparel
  • Distribution Assistants (on Saturdays)
  • Telephone answering
  • Home visitation
  • Data processing, accounting and other office activities
