Distribution Center

distributioncenter

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul receives donations of appliances clothing, bed linens, sick room equipment and furniture for distribution to the poor and needy in Indianapolis at no cost to them. The value of donated items may be declared as charitable contributions on federal tax returns.

Our distribution center is located at 1201 E. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN 46202 and is used as a collection and distribution center for donated merchandise. The donation line (317) 687-1006 is used by donors wishing to donate useable merchandise. Subsequently, the donated items are picked up by our trucks, brought to the Distribution Center, sorted or repaired as needed and given free-of-charge to the deserving needy.

NOTE: Merchandise may be dropped off directly at the d Distribution Center Monday thru Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Needs are assessed by volunteer home visitation and referral slips are issued for the needy to receive merchandise from the distribution center. The help line (317) 687-0169 is a call in service available to anyone who is in need of SVDP services.

Alternatively, requestors may complete and submit this convenient Help Line Request Form.

The distribution center is operated by an all volunteer staff who drive the eleven (11) trucks, receive donated items delivered to the dock, prepare donated merchandise for distribution to the needy, and do the myriad of tasks necessary to keep up with this important work.
