Name: Lynne Tromble
Position: Chief Financial Officer
Indy native: While Lynne is a recent transplant from San Francisco, she actually has strong Hoosier roots. Lynn graduated from Ball State and also earned an MBA from Indiana University. Before moving to San Francisco, Lynne worked at St. Vincent Hospital.
Why she moved back: Desire to be with her new granddaughter
Home parish: Immaculate Heart of Mary
Surprise about SVdP: I was amazed to learn that St. Vincent de Paul is a huge organization. The Indianapolis Council has one of the largest client choice food pantries in the Midwest!
Finance volunteers: “I am grateful for all the volunteers who have loyally conducted the business of the finance department for so many years. They are very sharp people and have kept the organization afloat for a long time.”
Why a formalized finance department is necessary: “Because of our size, much of our donated food comes from the federal government. They require a consistent and formal tracking system and we are audited annually. We must also include data from the southern Indiana conferences in our council’s tally. Collecting this data and reporting out as required more consistency in record keeping, timely responses, and financial reporting becomes imperative.”
Thoughts on Peter Zubler: “I’ve been impressed with the multi-talented Peter Zubler, our first official Executive Director. In the time he has been here, he has been shoring up our infrastructure with his unique ability to support all participants well in the organization. He has amazing vision and is an incredible listener–weighing the input from volunteers and staff alike.”
The future: “There are huge opportunities here to serve the poor, and I am excited about that and the anticipated growth over the next several years. Our organization is truly blessed.”
