Have you been busy cleaning out your closets, cupboards, and garages while you’re home? St. Vincent de Paul is in dire need of material donations – clothing, household goods, linens, furniture, etc. We also need bicycles, helmets, locks and backpacks for our homeless neighbors.
During the month of May, St. Vincent de Paul is organizing a Stuff A Truck campaign. We will have our trucks at the following locations ready to receive your donations:
- May 2 – St. Pius X – 7200 Sarto Drive
- May 9 – Our Lady of Greenwood – 335 S. Meridian Street
- May 16 – St. Christopher – 5301 W. 16th Street
- June 13 – St. Mary – 317 N. New Jersey Street
The SVdP truck will be parked in the parish parking lot on the Saturday designated above from 10am-1pm. To adhere to social distancing, simply drive up, unload your donations and place them by the truck. After you leave, our staff will load the donations into the truck. Please put your clothing and other soft goods donations into plastic trash bags and household items in boxes. We reserve the right to reject any donations of furniture that are broken, badly soiled or severely damaged in any way.
This is a win-win for everyone … you eliminate all the excess gently used goods in your home and we can replenish our supply for our neighbors in need. Check out the list of items we do not take. Thank you for Helping Us – Help Others. Questions? Darlene Sweeney dsweeney@svdpindy.org.
UPDATED 05/06/20: Due to the amazing turn-out at St. Pius X, we will be shortening hours of collection to 10am – 1pm at each location. We are also moving the St. Mary event from May 30 to June 13. Thank you again for helping us help others!
