St. Philip Neri – President Bob Jareczek
At our April 6 conference meeting we expect to have several guests. A bilingual couple will be representing a group of bilingual Latinos who are looking for ways to get more involved in the community. Also attending will be Heather Snyder who may bring someone with her. Our finances are stable.
St. Simon – President Tom Adkins
St. Simon conference is participating in the 40 Days for 40 Beds campaign. Bulletin insert and info available in the narthex. We continue our home visit “Follow Up” program with good outcomes for those we reach but with challenges reaching many of our neighbors. Completed a review and updated our Home Visit communication process and the Servware input processes to maximize efficiency and data quality.
Tri-County Good Samaritan (Richmond, IN) – President Tony Talbert
No report submitted.
Our Lady of Lourdes – President Paige Gervan
OLL conference had an unexpected resignation by the conference president, due to severe health issues. Former president Jenny McNulty has helped organize the conference to quickly re-assess its structure and responsibilities. As of mid-March, Paige Gervan has stepped up as the new president and with the assistance of other conference members is working to re-stabilize the conference.
St. Mary – No Current President (Jeni Christoffersen continues to fill in)
We are participating in the 40 days for 40 beds campaign and are hopeful this will bring in much-needed funds for beds. Our home visitor team has been working tirelessly to support the very high volume of helpline calls. The requests are up for household items, beds, and rent/utilities equally. We continue to be in need of a conference president. Our volunteer base is diminishing as our parish composition evolves. Many Anglo parishioners are switching to other parishes. This is deeply concerning as our conference is already quite small, so we are facing a real risk of having to dissolve our conference.
St. Lawrence – President Eleanor Williams
We welcomed a new Vincentian who will be our Communication Minister. We are participating in 40 Days for 40 Beds Program. I gave a short announcement at Mass and we collected over $1100 the first week. Our Resurrection Choir sang at 3 Funerals and provided lunches for two of the families. Our financial Client Aid in February was $2,560.67. We held two CLF Orientations and will be starting the first session on March 27 with 15 Investigators, 4 Facilitators and 2 volunteers.
St. Lawrence will be hosting an Ozanam Training on Saturday, May 17th.
Holy Spirit – President Theresa Igel
Between Feb. 5 and Mar. 19 Holy Spirit has provided $5,709 in rent or utility assistance to our neighbors. We are planning a recruitment activity in April or May. We have found that people are interested in joining our conference but refuse to do home visits.
Little Flower – President Frank Mackell
Little Flower has yet to take ownership of the large grant targeting beds. But we are in initial stages of ordering beds with the new system, using normal funds, which thankfully, are adequate for the task. We have a new member Patty Schnell who is looking forward to Vincentian training, but has a conflict with the next scheduled session.
