SVdP Indy recently welcomed Dee Dellacca, our new Director of Finance. Dee has 25 years of accounting and finance experience in the healthcare, construction and legal sectors. We’re grateful she’s brought her expertise to our organization.
“Dee brings a thoughtfulness and team-first approach that blends well with the dynamic, community spirit that drives the work of St. Vincent de Paul,” says Peter Zubler, executive director, SVdP Indy. “We are very fortunate to have her join our team.”
What attracted you to SVdP Indy?
“I’ve known about St. Vincent de Paul, read about it in The Criterion, and when the opportunity arose with this job, I wanted to be a part of it. I really connect with the mission and what SVdP does for the community. It really speaks to my heart.”
Tell us about your first impressions.
“Everyone here is so friendly and glad to have me on board. It makes me excited to be a part of helping move SVdP forward. The people who work and volunteer here are really welcoming. I got to volunteer on my first day at the food pantry. It was incredible to witness—the people we serve, as well as all those who come here to serve.
“I was also impressed when I toured the Distribution Center. Everyone has place and is doing a special job. You can tell how much care the volunteers take to prepare donated items for families or for one of the Mission 27 stores. It just makes me want to be a part of this organization all the more!”
What are your goals for your first year?
“In the immediate future, we’re getting budgets set for the year ahead. But my main focus is really on forecasting the next 3-5 years for the organization. We’re discussing where we want to be and how we can get there.”
Where did you go to school?
“I got my bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana State University—I’m proud that I was a first generation college student in my family. And then I eventually went on to get my MBA from Indiana Wesleyan.”
