The West District is comprised of 13 conferences:
- Annunciation (Brazil IN)
- Holy Angels
- St. Ann
- St. Anthony
- St. Christopher
- St. Gabriel
- St. Joseph
- St. Malachy
- St. Michael
- St. Monica
- St. Paul Apostle (Greencastle)
- St. Susanna
Here are a few highlights from the district:
- Annunciation’s is expanding its food pantry in Brazil.
- St. Monica
- St. Monica’s Home Visitor Coordinator Sister Kathleen Hood has volunteer to assist Council with creating our SSVP Safeguarding Framework.
- The conference is searching for a new president.
- St. Christopher
- The conference started accepting bed donations—mattresses, box springs and bed frames—in 2010. Since this time, the conference has received 1,000+ beds that have been given directly to clients. All beds are inspected prior to delivering to clients.
- St. Christopher also encourages “targeted donations” where donors can specify exactly what is done with their donations. Some donors want the assistance to go to a needy family or for us to purchase new beds to deliver to clients. Donors are always informed about how people were helped with their donation.
- The conference also has a food pantry that helps about 250 families each week on Tuesday and Friday mornings.
